Mariana Lopez-Velazquez graduated in Mexico City as a General Physician from UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico). In 2001, Mariana worked in a Blood Bank as a supervisor where she monitored patients, conducted donor selection, processed blood, and oversaw quality control of Blood units in Angeles Hospital in Mexico City for 6 years. Mariana also worked in the laboratory processing tissue and growing stem cells, and learning advanced culture and Cryopreservation techniques. In 2009, Mariana started working in Animal Cell Therapies, Inc. as a laboratory researcher and Quality Control Technician.  Mariana has been the primary person involved with writing Animal Cell Therapies entire quality control program including all Standard Operating Procedures for cell culture, media preparation, equipment monitoring and maintenance, documentation and tracking, and pathogen screening.  Many of these documents have been submitted to the FDA to support our INAD submission. Mariana has also been the point of contact to develop a custom software program which will track processes on all of our tissue and cells electronically. Mariana is also proficient in all aspects of tissue processing and stem cell culture.
